The National Sample Survey Survey (NSSO) in 2018 is estimated at 3.2 percent of the population in the country is PWD, which is the highest in this country.

EFC approved a further extension of the scheme from 2021-22 to 2025-26 with an estimated cost of Rs 139.25 Crore.
