Bhubaneswar: With the end of the Monshon Monsse session, political parties have now shifted their focus to the election of the pipeliles to be held on September 30.
Even when the campaign for elections will officially start from September 20, basically it has begun.
Bypoll must be required after death sitting BJD Mla Pradeep Maharathy.
After the new schedule for Bypoll was announced, Rudra Pratap Maharathy (BJD), Ashrit Pattasayak (BJP) and Bishwokeshan Harichandan Mohapatra (Congress) had continued their outreach program by visiting villages in the electoral district.
BJD has begun holding worker meetings at the grassroots level.
“Even though we will officially start our campaign according to the schedule decided by the Indian Election Commission, we have started the Zilla Parishad level meeting with local leaders.
We have prepared our strategy for Bypoll and we will follow it,” said a BJD senior official, Responsible for Bypoll BJD’s pipeline.
The party had previously assigned more than two dozen MLA including several ministers to oversee BJD campaigns in constituencies and could be repeated this time.
Sources at BJP and Congress said the two parties had also held initial discussions at the highest level to decide on the strategy for Bypoll.
Both parties have assigned senior leaders to campaign for their respective candidates.
In the midst of restrictions Covid-19, the Door-to-Door meeting will be the focus of the three parties even though demonstrations will be held with a small meeting.
The Poll panel has banned road shows, bicycle depreciation or cycles during the campaign period considering Covid-19.
