Odisha: Auto driver returns bag with jewellery worth Rs 7 lakh

SAMBALPUR: An auto-rickshaw driver returned a bag containing jewellery worth around Rs 7 lakh, to the passenger who had left it in his vehicle here on Tuesday.
The driver, Mohammad Azim (54), picked up Jubraj Behera and his wife Chandrakanti Behera along with their daughter, granddaughter and grandson from Khetrajpur railway station after they alighted from the Nagawali Express on Sunday.
They went to Biharipara in Remed area.
But they forgot their bag containing jewellery in Azim’s auto-rickshaw.
After dropping Jubraj and his family at Biharipada, Azim dropped two other passengers at Ainthapali.
However, after returning home, Azim found that a passenger had forgotten his bag in his auto-rickshaw.
Azim said, “I saw the bag in my auto-rickshaw.
I took the bag inside but did not open it and hung it on the wall.
On seeing this, my wife asked me whose bag that was.
I told her that a passenger had forgotten it in my auto-rickshaw and I would return it to the rightful owner.
Fortunately, the owner of the bag came to the auto-stand searching for the bag on Monday and when I saw him, I returned it,” he said Jubraj said, “My daughter forgot her bag containing gold ornaments in the auto.
On Monday evening, when we searched for the bag in the house, we didn’t find it.
Subsequently, I went to the auto-stand and the driver gave it to me.”
