Bhubaneswar: Police on Saturday saved a 24-year-old woman who was sold to an old man in Rajasthan for Rs 1.80 lakh by her 17-year-old husband in August, from the district of Baran District.
Women from Saintala at Balalangi Odisha married 17 years from the same district in July.
With the pretext of working in a brick kiln, an underage child has taken his wife to Rajasthan 15 days after the wedding was declared and sold there.
After selling his wife to parents, he had returned home.
When he saw it back in the village in a few days and without their daughter, the woman’s parents increased and had submitted a police complaint.
