Bhubaneswar: Two people, including a woman, were arrested with brown sugar worth Rs 55 lakh and RS 34.80 lakh cash from their home in the Kespura area under the police limit of Nagar Saheed.
The defendant was identified by the police as a loss of Biswarajan (23) and Pinky Das (28).
“Acting on the tip-off, police Saheed Nagar and the fast action team (Qat) together raided the house and grabbed a large number of narcotics and cash.
We are looking for a woman’s husband, who is running around,” said Police Commissioner Saumendra Priyadarshi.
He said the seizure of RS 34.80 lakh cash was a significant achievement for the police.
Police said Rout was the main supplier of drugs and women of pediages.
The police were very suspicious of the woman mopping a large amount of money by selling brown sugar in Bhubaneswar.
