BHubaneswar: BJD on Wednesday suspended Chilika MLA Prashanta Kumar Jagadev for hours after the Baligaon police in Khurda district registered his case for allegedly attacking local BJP leaders.
The Chairman of the Minister of Naveen Patnaik has also removed Jagadev from the Post Chair of the Khurda District Planning Committee.
Fast action against Jagadev followed after the video, showing his release towards the BJP leader Niranjan Sethy in full public view, becoming a viral.

“Shri Prashanta Kumar Jagadev, MLA, the constituency of the Chilika Assembly, with this suspended from Biju Janata Dal with direct effects,” read the order of the office signed by the President of BJD and the Chair of the Minister of Naveen Patnik.
Baligaon police have ordered Jagadev below 341 (wrong restraint), 294 (obscene acts), 323 (voluntarily causing injury), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 34 (actions carried out by several people with general intentions) from IPC and part 3 ( 1R) / 3 (1s) SC / SC Law (Prevention of Attrocitas).
“We have registered a case and is investigating this problem.
The cost is being examined,” Baligaon Sub-Division (SDPO) police officers Manas Ranjan Barik told TI.
Jagadev (52), twice BJD MLA, is famous for run-in which is often in public places.
