Odisha: BJD workers are arrested in connection with the murder of farmers

Bhubaneswar: Police on Thursday arrested Manas Das, a BJD worker and owner of NGO Manababad Politihan, because of his alleged involvement in the murder of a 45-year-old farmer in the Beggia area in Khurda in 1.
His son, also had been arrested on charges that attacked a man and His son was in Begunia recently.
The incident was revealed after the video of the Assault case began viral on social media.
Manas’s arrest came two days after 11 tribal clothing held a demonstration before the Khurda SP office demanded strict action against him.
They accused Manas, who was a lawyer, very influential because of its proximity to several BJD leaders and had terrorized poor tribes in Khurda.
Manas’s arrest also attended a spicy attack by the BJP opposition and Congress on BJD which was in power to the background of the commencement of the Monsun Assembly session from Wednesday.
Manas landed in the storm after his name appeared in the alleged Begvia attack on the father-child duo.
The victims had submitted a complaint against Manas and his supporters.
The complainants accused that Manas was angry with them because they refused to work for the NGO.
During the investigation, Khurda police found alleged manas involvement in the murder of Satyabrata Nayak on August 1, a farmer, in Abhimanpur.
The police previously arrested six people because they were suspected of lynching nayak because they refused to attend the Manas NGO meeting.
The alleged involvement of Manas was confirmed after the defendant’s interrogation.
“We caught Manas after learning about the link in the murder case.
In addition, we investigated his involvement in two other criminal cases.
His son was arrested for his involvement in a recent attack on the father-son duo.
The Manas role in the attack is also being examined,” said Inspector General of Police (Central Range) Narasingha Bhol.
Bhol said Manas had been ordered below 62 (murder), 363 (kidnapping), 364 (kidnapping to commit murder), 201 (causing loss of evidence), 120B (criminal conspiracy) and 34 (actions carried out with general intentions) from IPC.
The police said they had received more complaints against Manas from several people, who were previously reluctant to raise their voices towards him.
The police have advised these people, who were harassed by Manas, to submit a complaint against him.
While BJD has not reacted to Manas’s arrest, a senior spokesman for the party denied that there was pressure on the police.
“The police took action based on their investigation.
Our party has never promoted illegal activities,” he said.
