CORAPUT: More than 20,000 people from 151 villages in Swabhiman Anchal across the Balimela Reservoir in the Malka-hit district of Malisii will soon get better health facilities because the border security force (BSF) will launch a boat ambulance service from January 26.
“There are extraordinary developments in Malkangiri and Coraput regencies after MAOIS activities contained mostly.
BSF with the help of Odisha police have intensified the dominance exercises and BSF will launch a ship ambulance service for residents of Swabhiman Anchal from January 26,” said Satish BSF IGF.
Recently, the state government has inaugurated a 50-bed portable health center in Burnada in Swabhiman Anchal.
The ship’s ambulance service will be an addition to the health care facilities that apply in the area.
Portable Health Center is equipped with 50 beds, including four intensive care units (ICUS), and oxygen concentrators for the treatment of critical patients.
At present, the residents of Anchal Swabhiman depend on sub-division hospitals in Chitrachonda and the primary health center in Janbai, but for this they must cover miles in the water lane.
It has become a nightmare experience for many people to shift patients to hospitals in an emergency.
Because of its geographical location, which is surrounded by Balimela reservoir of three sides and borders Andhra Pradesh, Maois Dictate Swabrimaan Rules Anchal as a water line is the only way of communication to reach the place.
However, after the construction of the Gurupriya Bridge in 2018, the area was connected to the mainland, which led to development activities in the area.
