BHUBANESWAR: The state government on Monday ordered a crime division research into spurious medication trade from the country three times after it had been discovered that over 58,000 pills of anti-covid medication favipiravir worth about Rs 70 lakh were smuggled to Cuttack in Noida.
“Chief minister Naveen Patnaik has led the offense division to research into the bogus drug instance,” a government statement said.
Though the spurious drugs have largely been captured and trials sent for evaluation, the major job of this crime division would be to monitor the whole value chain from the producer to vendors, which isn’t established yet.
