Bhubaneswar: Continuing the focus on drawing new investment, the state government on Friday gives a nod to seven new projects with a total investment potential of Rs 2,084 Crore.
Investment projects include three wheat-based ethanol plants with oil psus and in sectors such as renewable energy, logistics and tourism.
This will produce employment opportunities for more than 2,144 people.
The single single window authority (SLSWCA) was led by the Chief Secretary of the Suresh Chandra Mohapatra who made a call on the individual investment project in Rs 1,000 Crore cleaning these official projects, the official source said.
According to an official statement, the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) proposal for a 500 kiloliter wheat-based ethanol plant per day (KLPD) and 8 MW of power plants at Balgopalpur near Ballasore accept nods.
Major oil will invest RS 870 Crore for that purpose.
SLSWCA also gave a nodding for two other wheat-based ethanol factories including one 500 KLPD by Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) in Umerkote in Nabarangpur and 100 KLPD other factories along with biogas factories and co-gen plants by Mumbai based on Newalt Energy Private Limited Nuakheta near Bantala in Angul District.
While HPCL will invest around 500 crores for its factory, Mumbai-based promoters will spend RS 125 Crore to develop IT units, the statement said.
Ethanol fuel effective and effective is ecologically compared to other biofuels while can be easily available and help reduce global warming.
Ethanol fuel reduces dependence on fossil fuels.
With the center, the target is a combination of 10% ethanol fuel level with gasoline in 2022 and 20% mixture by 2025, the official source said three approved units would surge into the existing capacity and help reduce carbon footprint.

Two 5 star hotel projects in the city by promoters such as the Indian core atmosphere Private Limited by investing RS 185 Crore and by D N Homes Private Limited with an investment RS 165 Crore also receives a signal forward from the state government.

The state government stated that it attracted a new investment around Rs 3 Lakh Crore since February last year despite the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
