Bhubaneswar: To help the country’s business weavers and their income have been influenced during Covid’s time, the Chair of the Naveen Patnaik Minister announced a special package for them.
The handloom sector is one of the labor generators in rural areas after agriculture.
The state has 31,342 hole looms for weaving purposes.
Of this number, 15,071 hole looms have been convached so far.
Under this particular package, 15,000 looms from weavers will be converted to concrete in three years gradually.
The state government will spend Rs 7,000 for each weaving hole.
Similarly, a total of 3000 weavers will get a cum warehouse in the first phase below this package.
So far, 11,695 household work warehouses have been provided by the country to the weaver family.
Usually family members help the main weavers or artists for the weaving and cottage industry.
“The government will provide fans and electrical tubers to weavers so that they can work for a longer period.
Poor lighting can affect their vision, which is why the government provides this lighting system to help them,” said a statement from the office of the minister’s chairman.
The government has decided to provide a home for the Weaver family who qualifies priority.
Beneficiaries will be selected in accordance with the Guidelines for the Raj Pancayati Department.
The state has emphasized to help weavers to get loans easily under this package.
Naveen has directed confirmation officials to provide RS 50,000 interest-free loans to weavers.
The Center for Public Facilities (CFC), Godown and Yard markets such as infrastructure will be created in various places through Pancayati Raj and the Department of Drinking Water to store and sell weavers.
“Lakh people depend on the handloom sector.
There is a request for the Odisha handloom outside the state.
Weavers exhibited a rich cultural heritage and the tradition of the world through their handsloom,” the official statement said.
