Bhubaneswar: Head of Odisha Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday turned Indian hockey players from the state and handed them in cash for their historical performances at the Tokyo Olympics which was recently concluded.
While Birendra Lakra and Amit Rohidas was awarded Rs 2.5 Crores each following the achievements of the bronze-medal victory of the national team in Tokyo, Grace Deep Ekka and Namita Toppo, each given by Rs 50 Lakh.
After the semifinal team reached the semifinal stage for the first time at the Olympics.
