BHUBANESWAR: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik was praise for those artisans of this Raghurajpur heritage crafts village in Puri area Wednesday.
Attending the final service of a mural artwork camp in Raghurajpur through video seminar, Naveen reported the crafts village has been the pride and individuality of Odisha.
The Pattachitra art of Raghurajpur artisans has brought worldwide fame to Odisha.
A couple of decades back, the very first minister seen Raghurajpur on his approach into Puri and walked across the village.
He was impressed with all the artistic ability and craftsmanship of these people.
The whole village seemed to be an art gallery for hima statement by the chief minister’s office stated.
Throughout the digital stage, Naveen eased the disbursement of Rs 10,000 remuneration to every one of those 150 pioneers households, that had engaged in the mural craft function, which had been organized by Odisha Lalit Kala Akademi in cooperation with all the Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC).
In light of this lockdown, the artists had been given a job of decorating their homes with mural paintings, depicting epic tales.
Every one of the 150 homes at Raghurajpur has four painters, that are proficient in Pattachitra and tussar paintings, making toys, paper mache masks, palm leaf engravings and rock and wood carvings.
The crafts village brings a great number of tourists, mainly thieves, each year.
On the other hand, that the footfall has dramatically fallen because of its Covid-19 pandemic.
