BHUBANESWAR: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday reported the state government is investing over Rs 8,500 crore on strengthening healthcare .
Addressing a gathering of 786 newly-appointed physicians selected throughout the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC), Naveen said health care is the principal focus region of his administration.
He added that the administration was always augmenting the health care system by recruiting a great number of employees during the past couple of decades.
“Physicians have a unique place in the city.
Folks look at physicians as Gods, particularly when it’s an issue of death and life.
The present Covid pandemic has changed physicians into warriors.
The physician community was in the forefront of this struggle against the Covid-19 for over a year,” Naveen said, hailing the participation of physicians in the pandemic.
The ministry said Covid-19 has experienced a serious effect on Odisha like the rest of earth.
“There’s been a great deal of strain on the health care system, however it wasn’t overwhelmed regardless of the massive spread of this disease and big number of instances.
Having a constant fight by the medical fraternity, we’ve been able to save lives notwithstanding the struggles of infrastructure, labour and medical equipment,” he explained.
Naveen emphasized on the necessity to be very cautious even as the instances were coming down since the struggle against Covid was far from over.
He explained that the young physicians will make a terrific gap in the nation’s healthcare delivery in the area level.
State health ministry Naba Das said attempts are to create Odisha a doctor-surplus country, and the condition will attain this shortly.
