The Institute of Information and Technology (Imit), Cuttack, PK Padhi Principal said students did not attend classes on Monday.
“The last year students appear for online exams, that’s why they don’t come to campus,” he added.
Odisha Private Engineering College Association (OPECA) Secretary of Honorary Binod Dash said most professional techniques and universities received a large number of students on the first day reopened.
“Many of them are busy preparing projects and appearing for online checks,” he added.
Ritesh Chhatoi, a final student of a city-based engineering student, said he was happy after attending college.
“It’s not easy to stay at home for several months.
Practical classes are very important for us and they cannot be done online, so the reopening of college is a good idea,” he added.
Jeetamitra Satpathy, Principal of Iti Bhubaneswar, said about 40 percent of students attended the physical class on Monday.
“Students attend practical classes along with the theory class.
They are happy to attend offline classes,” he added.
Bansidhar Majhi, Deputy Chancellor Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (Vssut), Burla, said they would start offline classes for students last year and Ph.D.
Bachelor from August 13.
