Bhubaneswar: The night temperature on Friday fell below 10 degrees Celsius in eight places when Mercury continued to swim throughout the country.
The temperature floated under 15 degrees Celsius in most other places.
Demaribadi in the Kandhamal District, which has recorded the temperature of the sub-10 for the past few days, once again recorded a 6.5 degree lowest day.
Likewise, Chandbali records 10.8 degrees Celsius, a drop of 3.8 degrees below normal, falls high in the state.
The city also shivered at least 12.2 degrees Celsius, a sharp fall of three degrees below normal.
Forecast of the Indian Meteorology Department said the trend of falling similar at the mercury level will continue for the next four-five days.
“The night temperature during this period will remain three to four degrees Celsius under normal in several places in the state,” said Umashankar Das, a regional imd central scientist in the city.
DAS said the continuous inflow of dry and cold winds from the north and northwest helped a decrease in the level of mercury throughout the state.
There are reports that people in some interior bags are preferred to remain indoors to protect themselves from cold when the night approaches.
IMD on Friday advised people, most senior citizens and children, must remain indoors to avoid cold.
IMD in his advisor also told people to look after their livestock in the right place.
Another scientist from the center of IMD Sanjeev Dwived said several coastal bags and the interior saw a drop at the level of mercury 2-3 degrees Celsius below normal.
