Odisha: Current access to disabled at Puri Temple immediately

Bhubaneswar: In what might bring a pattern for different worshipers, the administration of Shree Jagannath (SJTA) Temple in Puri has decided to make the 12th century temple easier to access them.
“We will soon come up with detailed guides for the movement of people who are smooth with disabilities in the temple.
In the absence of sufficient slopes and other facilities until now, they find it difficult to move comfortably in the temple and offer their prayers.
We will see what it can best be done for them.
The first meeting is likely to be held on Saturday, “said a senior SJTA official to Ti.
The Temple Administration has been in November 2015 installing steel ramps in both the North Gate of the temple extend to Ananda Bazaar.
Two wooden wheelchairs were also made to take physical disabled devices to the temple.
However, the facilities have been lying not used because most worshipers are not aware of their presence.
“First of all, many are not aware of the presence of the road, which is not connected to the main temple (Jagamanan area) from which one can see a glimpse of gods.
Wheelchairs can only go up to certain parts of the temple.
From there, people like I need to be done on the shoulder or in the arm by at least two people to reach the main temple, “said Prasnana Mohanty, said the person who was physically challenged in Puri, said.
