Bhubaneswar: Boudh on Saturday appeared as the first district in the state without a Covid active case in the second wave, while three others – Nabarangpur, Nabanche and Gajapati – left with one-digit active infection.
A small district carved from Kandhamal, Boudh reported 12,594 Covid infections and 112 deaths in the first and second waves were put together.
Overall 12,482 people recovered from infections in the district.
Boudh has provided 2,90,935 doses with 59,633 people have been fully vaccinated.
“Covid touched Boudh very late both in the first and second waves.
For more than a month now, the number of active cases in Boudh remains limited to one digit.
It has contained a very good transmission.
Nuabada, which is the center of infection in the second wave, has also been Seeing the active case shrinking into one digit.

While 11 districts reported cases in one digit, nine did not report a single infection.
Khurda contributed almost half of new infections with 211 cases.
Ten districts in West Odisha now only contribute 339 of 5,336 active cases in the state.
Bulk active cases are in Khurda and Cuttack.
