Bhubaneshwar: Zona East Coast Railway (ECOR) serving Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh have planned to provide skills development training to 2500 youths in the region under the Rail Caushal Vikas Yojana (RKVY) inaugurated by the Minister of Surface Ashwini Vaishnaw through the Ashwini video link from New Delhi.
In the RKVY scheme, an initiative under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKvy), free training for skills development will be given to idle youth (in the 18-35 year old group) which has a minimum qualification as a matriculation.
They will get a certificate after successfully completing the training.
In Odisha, skills development training will be given to carriage repair workshops in Mancheswar in Bhubaneswar and Loco Loco Shed at Angul.
Two Loco Shed Visakhapatnam and Loco Loco Shed Visakhapatnam-Loco Institutions – in Andhra Pradesh have been chosen as a training institution.
“Training will be given to trade, electricity and trading in these institutions with 20 slots in each location.
The training will consist of 100 hours in three weeks.
Youth will attend a practical class or training at this workshop,” the official source of ECO .
Vaishnaw said that unemployed young people in the region could learn various skills and develop themselves to entrepreneurship or for work in various industries after getting skills development training from the training center under RKVYS.
He encouraged various young people to be interested in training after interacting with several students through a video link.
Ecor sources say they have received around 900 applications in response to notifications issued by the train zone under RKVY.
