Odisha: Elderly Jumping to Pyre Funeral Wife, Burned to Death

Bhawanipatna: controlled by emotions, an elderly man jumped into Pyre who was burned from his wife and immediately charred to die in the Erdom of Odisha district, police said on Wednesday.
The incident occurred on Tuesday in Sialjodi Village in the District Galakunda Blok.
Nlassladi patience (65) suddenly jumped into Pyre’s funeral of Raibari’s wife (60), after four sons and relatives went to take a shower in the water closest to the tradition, a police officer said.
Patience, who is a former member of Samiti from the Gram Panchayat, died in that place, he said.
“We have registered cases of unnatural deaths based on statements of family members and villagers who are present at the place,” said Inspector-responsible from the Kebalabon police station, Paraja.
“Prima facie seems to take a step due to extreme sadness.
Further investigation is underway,” he added.
