Bhubaneswar: The Excise Ministry has arrested 832 people and submitted 1,050 cases in the last seven days in an effort to crack down illegal manufacturing, distribution, and sales of liquor that was displed illegally and drugs in front of rural polls.
Sleuth excise has also confiscated illegal liquor, drugs and cough syrup worth around Rs 3 Crore and 32 vehicles.
Recently, the Secretary of the Exhibition Ministry of Executive Sushil Kumar Lohani has instructed officials to check the border point, patrol the evening and often raid to curb ID, duplicate and liquor without assignments.
