Bhubaneswar: Negotiate Dangerous Medan and Bad Weather, Odisha Cadre India (IFS) Officer Viswanath Neelannavar (40) has received awards with cycling to Khardung La, the highest motorized road in the world, reaching a distance of 574 km from Manali.
The cycle expedition, organized by the Indian Youth Hostel Association, is intended to educate and squeal tourists about forest conservation.
The young IFS officer, currently posted in the Division of the Baliguda forest, is also known to take its official tour in his bicycle.
He began the expedition on July 11 from Manali and reached Leh on July 22.
He cycled to Khardung He on July 23 and scaled on the same day.
“A total of 79 enthusiasts of cycles have participated in the expedition but 35 can make it to Khardung La.
I have traveled extensively on bicycles.
It instills confidence in me and also produces a lot of motivation.
So, I decided to continue the expedition,” he said.
He said it was a difficult expedition because of cold temperatures, almost around zero degrees Celsius at night.
Falling it is also raining, he added.
Viswanath uses the MTB Firefox cycle provided by the Youth Hostel.
“In addition to raising awareness about forest conservation, I hope my business will motivate others to do biking to stay fit and healthy.
During the expedition, we have food at night in emergency camps.
We are also used to having dried food with us to make We keep going, “he added.
Chief of the Principal Conservator and Head of Forest Forces, Sisir Kumar Ratho praised Viswanath.
