Bhubaneswar: Puri District Legal Service Authority (DLSA) has saved a 21-year-old girl from Tamil Nadu when his employer did not allow him to return to Odisha in the middle of the second wave of Pandemic Covid-19.
The girl who was saved was identified as Behera Jasoda, a resident of Gaudabada Sahi in the city of Puri.
Jasoda has worked as a tailor at a textile factory in Tirupur in Tamil Nadu for the past few months.
With increasing Covid-19 cases, Jasoda wants to go home.
However, his employer allegedly did not give leave, causing his mental harassment.
His father Giridhari Behera, an automatic rickshaw driver, asked Puri District Collector Samarth Verma and workers to save his daughter.
District administration requested DLSA castle to intervene.
“Chairman of DLSA Santosh Kumar Jena, who is also the Puri District Judge, directed me to take the necessary actions.
We immediately contacted the Secretary of Tirupur DLSA Mecala Mythili.
Because coordination between DLSAS Puri and Tirupur, Jasoda can be saved from the textile unit,” Secretary of DLSA Amaresh Mohapatra told media people.
Mohapatra denied the girl who was saved physically or sexually.
“According to his statement, he was wrongly locked up by his employer.
He did not make other charges.
We have asked Tirupur DLSA to start the legal actions needed,” said Mohapatra.
