Odisha Govt introduces a CM medal for excellence in investigations under 5T

Bhubaneswar: The State Government has decided to introduce the ‘Minister of Chief Medal to the Excellence in Investigation’ for police officers and Alert Sleuths.
In the first batch, 64 police have been chosen to receive medals, which will be given under the Government Initiative 5T (transparency, work, technology, and transformation).
64 Recipients include officers from the branch of state crime, special task forces, economic wings, communisarial police, district police, and the directorate of majesty.
Award will be given to police officers who investigate the best every year.
Additional Chief Secretary (Home Department) is the Chair of the State Level Award Committee.
“Like the Minister of the Ministle Medal of the United Excellence in an investigation, we have instituted the Minister’s Minister’s medal for excellence in investigations.
Awards and CM recognition will increase the morale of the officers,” said a senior house officer.
A few months ago, Director General of Police Abhay had expressed disapproval of poor investigations to several cases and asked researchers to improve their professional efficiency.
While overcoming the recent Senior Senior Police Officer Conference, Abhay said professional investigations from all crimes remained a priority for the Odisha police.
“A large number of investigations have failed trials.
Case liberation as a proportion of high-decided cases.
We must increase investigations and follow-up trials.
We must remain responsible for the law for all our actions,” Abay said at the conference.
It must be noted that the level of belief in Odisha is one of the lowest in this country.
In accordance with the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), the level of state confidence reached 9.5% in 2015, 10.4% in 2016, 9.3% in 2017, 5.7% in 2018 and 21.5% in 2019.
