BHUBANESWAR: As many as four investment proposals worth Rs 1637 crore in various sectors received the state government nod on Friday.
They are expected to generate employment opportunities for around 1,116 people.
Officials said Tata Steel’s proposal to expand its iron ore beneficiation plant at Joda in Keonjhar from 12 mtpa to 17.6 mtpa received the nod from the state-level single window clearance authority.
The company will invest Rs 946 crore while the expansion unit will create additional 800 jobs.
With the state government recently announcing incentives to set up oxygen plants and oxygen cylinder manufacturing units, Shyam Metalics and Energy Limited has announced to set up an oxygen cylinder manufacturing plant with capacity of 10,80,000 cylinders per annum.
The unit to be set up in Rengali industrial estate in Sambalpur district at an investment of Rs 55 crore.
The state approved another proposal from Shyam Metalics to set up a railway wagon manufacturing plant having capacity of 1,500 wagons per annum at Hirakud in Sambalpur district.
The company plans to invest Rs 382 crore to set up the unit.
