Odisha Govt ordered an investigation into the Gutkha unit in Sambalpur

Sambalpur: The Odisha government has directed the collector of the Sambalpur district to conduct an investigation into a fire in the Gutkha Manufacturing Unit in Pardhiapali under the Ainthapali Police Station in the city of Sambalpur.
A total of 28 people suffered burns in an accident that occurred on Monday.
Labor Minister Odisha Susant Singh said, “the incident had arrived at the state and direction government notices issued to collect the Sambalpur district to form a team to ask about this problem and submit a report.” He added that the action would be taken against all who were found guilty in the investigation.
The Directorate and Boiler Factories on Tuesday issued a notification to the Gutkha Manufacturing Unit to stop the operation after officials found that the unit was running without a hydran pipe, it was mandatory for factories working with hazardous materials and chemicals.
During the investigation, the Directorate official also found that the staff worked in a closed room when the accident occurred.
The police have also registered a case against Vaibabh Pandey, the owner of the Gutkha manufacturing unit, and the management below 285 (negligent behavior in connection with fire or flammable material), 287 (negligent behavior in connection with the machine) 337 (causing injured by an act that endangers humans ) and 338 (cause sad pain by acting to endanger the personal life or safety of others) from the IPC.
Of the total injured, 11 undergo treatment at Eigh Rourkela.
The condition of two people is declared critical.
