Bhubaneswar: The state government has approved the release of RS 50 Crore for the Konark Heritage Area Development Project, which was proposed for the overall development of Konark to world-class tourist destinations.
The State Work Department has asked the head office of the engineer (part of the road) to release the number to the Odisha Bridge and Construction Corporation (OBCC), which has been given the task of implementing the project.
A senior government official said the amount would be spent on road construction and repair, the seller’s zone shift to the place and the development of the right pedestrian area.
In January, the state government has launched the draft Master Plan project for the Konark Heritage Area, which aims to change infrastructure around the Temple of History of Konark Sun.
The rebuilding plan is based on four main aspects – celebrating the splendor of the Sun Temple, enhancing visitor experience, increasing local business and strengthening tourism-based economies.
Around the RS 150 Crore will be spent in the phase for this purpose.
When employment takes place, the remaining number will be released by the state government.

Core Area Development Plans, including the increase in the entrance to the 13th century sun temple, landscaping, pedestrian and parking area development and open theater reform will be taken by an Indian archaeological survey.
