Odisha Govt Sanction 14 New Cyber Police Station

Bhubaneswar: The state government on Tuesday oversees the formation of 14 new cyber police stations in different places, including each in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
At present, the country only has four cyber police stations, each in Cuttack, ROURKELA and Sambalpur.
“We are pleased with 14 cybercrime sanctions and economic violations of the police station by the government.
This will help us provide better services to people.

Apart from Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, the new cyber police station will appear in Keonjhar, Angul, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Puri, Coraput, Bhawanipatna, Balalangir, and Kandhamal.
A total of 154 executive posts (inspectors, sis, asis and constables) have been made for all cyber police stations.
In addition, the government has sanctioned 6 posts experts (2 IT analysts, 3 financial analysts / accounts and 2 Cyber ​​Forensic analyst) for each police station cyber.
Source said the police also planned to form a state level body to oversee the function and performance of the virtual world police station in the state.
IG ranking officers will lead the proposed cyber investigation agent.
At least 779 cases of cybercrime have been registered throughout the state from January 1 to May 31 this year.
Cybercrime’s violations increased by 31% which was worrying in Odisha in 2020 compared to 2019.
The Odisha police record revealed at all 1,931 cases of Cybercrime registered last year to fight 1,475 in 2019.
