Odisha Govt to establish a cyber security operation center to protect the application

Bhubaneswar: In a big leap towards cyber security, the Odisha government is ready to build a strong mechanism to protect websites and applications from hackers.
Cyber security operations center (CSOC) is being built in the Tower Place of the Odisha computer application center (OCAC) to prevent intrusion efforts and cyber defacement.
“Given the cyber threats that appear, we will soon have a strong generation and strong cyber security walls to prevent the government website to be hacked.
The broader goal of CSOC is to monitor suspicious traffic traffic and take immediate prevention measures against malicious users.
CSOC Must monitor, detect, investigate and respond to cyber threats, “Electronic Secretary and Information Technology (E & IT), Manoj Kumar Mishra told TII.
Initially, the system will be made operational at the State Data Center (SDC) where government applications have been hosted, the width area of the country (Swan), and secretariat infrastructure.
Later, other government infrastructure will be integrated with CSOC.
“The website of several offices and government-owned institutions is hacked and damaged in the past.
CSOC will have a complete view of the threat landscape, including various types of endpoints, servers and software.
It is responsible for collecting, maintaining and regularly reviewing the log of all activities and network communication.
This can find the existence of threats, “Other E & IT said.
CSOC will scan or monitor the network all the time to mark suspicious activities.
The center will issue a warning about threats that appear to prevent damage.
CSOC will rule out every threat, remove false threats and ensure a real threat.
Given any threats, the center will act as the first respondent, take action such as turning off or isolate the endpoint, end the dangerous process or prevent them from executing and deleting files.
CSOC can also work to restore the system and recover lost or compromised data.
CSOC will operate 24×7 where IT experts will keep a tight vigil on cyber intruders and prevent them from immediately.
The global threat alarm system will be adopted to receive a quick warning about malware that appears.
CSOC also tends to prevent denial-of-service (DOS) attacks.
DOS is a targeted cyberatck to seize legitimate users from online services.
This is done by flooding the network or server with a request of useless and invalid authentication which ultimately carries the entire network down.
