BHUBANESWAR/BALANGIR: In a scene right from a Bollywood potboiler, a lovelorn youth carrying out a country-made pistol shot a household of three hostage at Balangir and needed to find the woman he had been in love , who was the proprietor’s niece and wasn’t present at house when the play was unfolding.
The hostage situation finished following half an hour when authorities eventually managed to overpower him afterwards attempts to convince him to drop his weapon collapsed.
On Tuesday afternoon aroand 9, Bikram Panda (28), owner of the online cafe at Balangir, barged into a home at Shantipada neighborhood, brandishing a country-made pistol.
He held the 3 members of their household — guy (a 50-year-old government slave ), spouse (45) and boy (14)–in rifle point and kept asking them to a woman he stated was the operator’s niece.
Authorities said that the youth was distressed to find the woman whom he promised to be in love .
He threatened to kill herself too.
Fortunately, the loved ones were able to lock themselves into a different area away from the intruder.
“We have a call in the relatives, who had been trapped in the home, an armed gunman had entered their own residence.
A group hurried to the area and started searching for alternatives to save the loved ones,” explained Balangir SP Nitin Kusalkar.
He said that the youth had restricted himself at the hallway on the floor.
“Accompanied by the HC of all Town police station as well as my safety employees, I started speaking to him.
I gave my debut but he wasn’t eager to participate and looked edgy.
Unexpectedly, he chased three blanks.
Fortunately, nobody was hurt,” Kusalkar stated.
And it was Panda was loading the fourth thing which the police broke the door and was able to defeat him.
After his arrest, the Panda was brought to the police station for interrogation.
The authorities are attempting to discover where he purchased the pistol from and just how long he was planning this action.
Resources stated Panda has been in love with a woman who works at a government medical school in town.
The home where he completed the hostage drama is believed to be the woman’s uncle.
“I never watched the youth within this area.
After he barged into the home and held my child at gunpoint, we have terrified.
Fortunately, we might manage to conceal ourselves,” stated the houseowner.
Kusalkar said as it’s a government holiday in perspective of Raja festival, and the woman has been with her parents in their village, about 15 kilometers from Balangir city.
The woman works as a clerk with a contractual basis from the government medical school along with shuttles between her village and also office daily.
Sources said Panda understood the woman frequents her uncle’s house which was why that he decided to go to the area.
