Rourkela: The Hockey Olympics were given reception to revive their homes in the Sundargarh district on Saturday.
The district residents were euphoric to see their favorite sons and daughters when they were taken in the procession in the city of Sundargarh.
Amit Rohidas, Birendra Lakra, Deep Grace Ekka and Namita Toppo, all Indigenous Sundargarh, represent India at the Tokyo Olympics.
The big crowd went down to Jharsuguda airport to greet hockey stars.
“We are very happy to be able to return home and get a big welcome,” said Birendra Lakra.
“This is indeed a pleasant moment for all of us and we thank the district administration because it gives us such a speech,” Amit Rohidas said.
