Odisha: Journalists died in an Eid explosion in the District Catananda ahead of the rural poll

Bhubaneswar: A journalist died in an IED explosion (improvised explosive device) in the fortune district around noon on Saturday while trying to take a photo of Maoist’s poster, who filed an appeal of people to boycott the election of Panchayat to come in Odisha.
Such Maoist poster has appeared in several South and Western Odisha districts in the past a few days before the rural polls scheduled for February 16.
Saravana Vivek SP said the journalists seemed to be very close to the poster while trying to take the picture.

However, around 12 noon, there was an explosion where the journalist was killed.
The Alment Rohit Bispity (47) is a resident of the Madanpur-Rampur region.
He survived his wife, a nine-year-old son and a six-year-old daughter.
In addition to the rummy, Maoist posters appeal to people to boycott polls have emerged in Kandhamal Regency, Raya, Ladies, Malkangiri and Bargarh in the last few days.
Two days ago on Thursday, posters who were dropped by Visaka East Division from CPI which were prohibited (Maoist) in Jodambo and Jodambo and Jantri Area Anchal Swabhiman in the Malkangiri district had warned candidates to remain aloof from the polling process or faced the consequences.
A senior police officer said security forces had oversee Maoist’s activities in front of the rural polls.
He said people should avoid going near MAOIS poster because explosives may have been planted near them as if targeting security personnel.
