Odisha: Mamita Meer Murder Case Protests Washing Winter Session

Bhubaneswar: The State Assembly Winter Session on Friday comes to the tip suddenly washed 17 working days left, in the midst of continuing protest by BJP members and Congress on the murder case of Mamita Meer Meer.

Following part of the apropriation bill, the head of the government Whip Pramila Mallik moved the movement to postpone Sine Die’s house, which was supported by several Bench Treasury members.
“There is no other important official business left for this session.
Opposition members also do not allow discussion about any issues.
In addition, there are Covid-19 case detection reports.
Given the situation above, assembly must be postponed,” said Minister of Parliament Affairs Bikram Arukh.
Immediately after the trial began on Friday, opposition members continued to protest by defeating Gong which forced repeated delays from the house.
Mla’s opposition was also involved in a fight with security personnel when climbing on the speaker podium.
Some opposition members who protested also seemed to throw placards and banners targeting the podium.
Opposing the premature charges of sessions, the opposition parties were first staged by boycott and then sat in Dharna near the Mahatma Gandhi statue in the assembly spot.
The Legislative Party leader Congress Narasingha Mishra told reporters that treasury bench was not interested in any discussion since the beginning of the session.
“We have provided a notice to discuss the murder case of Mamita Meher.
But because of the pride of the Head of Minister of Naveen Patnaik, they did not allow opposition parties to conduct any discussion at home.
This is an action to destroy democracy,” Mishra said.
Senior BJP member Jayanarayan Mishra said the BJD government always tried to escape the discussion.
