Odisha: Many feel that Gangster Sheikh Hyder is staged, want it to investigate

Bhubaneswar: The death of Gangster Sheikh Hyder in the police shooting at Balasore on Saturday has triggered a debate whether the meeting is real or the stage.
Many people, including retired police and senior lawyers, were not ready to buy the story of the Komisionce police that they were shot under Hyder (60) when he tried to escape from their prisoners in the Balalasore District Simulia area at around 3:20 a.m.
on Saturday.
Hyder was being shifted from Choudwar prison in Cuttack to Jail Bareipada in Mayurbhanj District.
As was told by the Police Commissioner Saumendra Priyadar, around 10 armed police personnel from the police commissioned the commission to escort Hyder to the Bari prison at the time he was suspected of trying to win the police firearms, pushing the police to shoot him.
“There was suspicion in the mind of the person who caused the meeting.
It was difficult to believe that 10 police failed to defeat the 60-year-old person who was supposed to be handcuffed because he was a scary convict and had escaped from SCB Medical College in Cuttack in April during treatment.
A thorough question by an independent agent, ideally by the Judge of the High Court, must be done to ensure transparency, “said former Director General of Police Sanjeev Marik.
Gopal Nanda, another DGP retired, said the Balalasore police had to find out the situation that led to the meeting.
“Ballasore police must have registered cases related to the meeting in their jurisdiction.
The truth will arise when the senior supervisory officer, including Ballasee SP and the Eastern range explores, conducting a comprehensive investigation,” said Nanda.
Many people are taken to social media and are called meetings as extra-judicial murders.
“The meeting allegedly needs to be investigated to arrive at the truth,” Environmental Bisang Mohanty Tweeted.
