BHUBANESWAR: State PSU Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) on Thursday donated Rs 500 crore to the chief minister’s relief fund (CMRF) to encourage the state administration’s struggle from the Covid-19 pandemic.
OMC chairman Surendra Kumar handed the cheque to primary secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra while chief minister Naveen Patnaik attended the occasion via video conference.
OMC managing manager Balwant Singh was present on the event.
In 2020-21 fiscal year, the profit-making OMC had donated Rs 1982.10 crore into the CMRF for example Rs 1000 crore as dividend and Rs 520 crore into CMRF to encourage nation’s struggle against Covid-19.
In addition, it has been financing 10 committed Covid-19 hospitals in eight districts throughout the country.
According to an official announcement, regardless of the Covid-19 pandemic struggle, OMC had enrolled 5.42% increase in manufacturing of iron ore, chrome and bauxite with complete 17.12 MT of nutrient production throughout 2020-21.
The country PSU had achieved total sales revenue of Rs 5592 crore throughout 2020-21 fiscal year, and this will be a rise of 36.60percent when compared with the last financial.
The OMC has also proposed to double its manufacturing and earnings in the following two decades and reach $1 billion earnings within the following calendar year, ” said the announcement.
