Kendrapada: With the onset of the monsoon, a large number of residents have begun to nest in Bhitarika National Park.

The most important nesting birds are storks that are billed, small cormorant, egret median, big egret, small kuntul, purple heron, Gray Heron, Darter, Ibis White and Egret.
In the past, a large number of birds used to nest in the forest Bagagahana in the park during the rainy season.
But in 2019 many birds shift their nesting areas to the nearest Mathadia forest block, forest officers said.
