Bhubaneswar: The state government on Saturday asked universities and universities under the Department of Higher Education to start the offline class for first year undergraduate students (UG) academic sessions 2020-21 from Monday.
The government made this decision considering the increase in Covid-19 situation in the state.
On August 16, the Ministry of Higher Education has enabled the institutions to begin teaching physical classes for graduate students (PG) first year and pre-final students UG (except 2020-21 first year students).
The hostel will be opened from Sunday for these students.
The department has asked these institutions to follow the Covid-19 prevention protocol in the hostel.
“The appropriate decision about the start of class 2021-22 UG, the first half of the semester / year will be communicated later,” said Saswat Mishra, Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education in a letter to representatives of the University Chancellor and Principal of the State Public School in Indonesia.
According to the guidelines for department, teachers or staff or students living in the active detention zone will not come to universities or colleges.
Wearing a face mask or face cover will be mandatory.
Institutions must often ensure hand cleaning or hand sanitation in its place.
Spitting will be strictly prohibited on campus.
Social distance will be adopted in classrooms, libraries and laboratories.
If necessary, a bustling class can be divided into batches and teaching hours in a day can be extended.
Breathing etiquette will be strictly followed.
Someone must cover his mouth and nose with a handkerchief when coughing or sneezing, the Covid guide said from the department.
Educational institutions must encourage monitoring their own health.
Reporting of diseases by students and staff must be mandatory.
The technical institution must keep the isolation room in all hostels ready for immediate shift in prisoner reporting disease.
