Odisha: Pancrayat, city bills to be submitted in today’s assembly

BHubaneswar: The Vicial Odisha Pancayat Laws (Amandment) Bill, 2021 and Odisha Law (Amendment) Bill, 2021 has been registered to be submitted in the State Assembly on Monday.
Pancayati Raj Minist Pratap Jena, who is also responsible for the housing and urban department, will introduce two bills to be taken for the discussion later.
The second amendment of the law was required to maintain election elections in 50% in Pancayati Raj institutions and urban local bodies.
Part of the bill will also pave the way for Panchayat and the selection of urban local agencies in the state that might be held early next year.
Although detailed bills are unknown, the source said the state government has made provisions in it to ensure adequate representation of classes backwards in local body selection.
