Bhubaneswar: Minister of Pancayati Raj Pratap Jena said on Tuesday, said the election of three levels in the state would be held on time and the government would immediately submit a status report to the State Election Commission (SEC).
Pancrayat polls in this country will mature in February next year as the term of office of all Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRI) – Gram Panchayats, Panchayat Samitis and Zilla Parishads – ended on March 10, 2022.
“We have made detailed programs for rural polls And will immediately send it to seconds.
The government is fully prepared and Panchayat polls will be held on time, “Jena said.
The previous SEC had written twice to the state government to complete the restriction process and reservation of seats to conduct a timely poll.
Official sources in the Department of Raj Pancayati said there would be no pri restrictions because it was last carried out in 2017 while the process reservation process for SC / ST and the reverse class will be resolved soon.
The government is likely to change the law of Panchayat – Orissa Grama Panchayat Act-1964, Orissa Panchayat Samiti Act-1999 and Orissa Zilla Parishad ACT-1991 to limit chair reservations in 50%.
Current collection of reservations at PRI exceed 50%.
With only six months left for polls, BJD, BJP and Congress have begun Fine adjustment activities as rural polls are considered a general election precursor.
Pancrayat and Panchayat Samiti polls may not be fought for party symbols but are known to measure the mood of people towards political parties.
