Bhubaneswar: With a general increase in Covid situations, the three main political parties in the state – BJD, BJP and Congress – have updated their political activities overseeing the upcoming Panemayat polls.
While the President of BJD and Chair of the Minister of Naveen Patnik began a wise review meeting with party leaders, opposition parties had also carried out political activities to energize their cadres.
The BJD source said Naveen, during his meeting with party leaders, had asked them to be directed to Panchayat polls, to do work party organizations in the district and to fulfill promises to the people.
“Our parties are always ready for each election, including the election of Panchayat.
The election will be held according to the law.
We are good enough because of our pro-people work and good government,” said Minister of Planning and Convergence of Padmanabha Behera.
The main opposition party in the state, BJP, mostly in hibernation since the 2019 General Election, suddenly became a vocal against the BJD government about problems related to ordinary people and farmers.
BJP has launched three agitation programs throughout the state against the government in the last 15 days for problems such as mismanagement in Mandis, irregularities in the implementation of rural housing schemes and sharp gains in power rates.
Congress has also begun to hit the road to problems such as skyrocketing prices of important items and rising fuel prices.
Congress the work of President Pradeep Majhi said the party would go to people against the center and the state government over some problems.
Even when the State Election Commission (SEC) understood that Pancrayat polls could be postponed because of the non-finalization of environmental restrictions and seat reservations, the official source said the government immediately began the exercise.
