Bhubaneswar: The commissional police launched a special anti-drug enforcement drive under the banner of the Spider White operation.
The police issued a special WHATSAPP number 70777981111 to receive information related to drugs from the public.
“We have taken a hard action against drug dealers.
Spider White surgery is pressurized in sustainable efforts for bust racquets involved in brown sugar accessories,” said Police Commissioner Saumendra Priyadarshi.
Priyadarshi said the police would target the supply chain including soldiers or leg retailers.
All police stations have been sensitive to collect intelligence on smugglers and operators.
Special squad and fast action team (QAT) also actively participate in enforcement drives.
Frequently brown sugar seizures in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack left the police on their toes.
Apart from the consistent crackdown by the police, smugglers continue to peddle narcotics in the capital and its neighbor’s shell.
Komisiance police have confiscated around 4.2 kg worth of brown sugar around Rs 4 Crore in Cuttack and more than 2 kg of brown which is worth around Rs 2 Crore in Bhubaneswar in the last five months.
The source said the seizure would almost 60% more than the substance confiscated during the same period last year.
Police said peddling drugs, street crimes and slums had been closely related.
“We have identified dark triangles and take steps to curb threats.
Many defendants, who are involved in street crimes, live in slums.
We have launched Basti Ku Chala, a community police in the slums.
At least four community outreach programs will be made Every month in the slums.
