Bhubaneswar: CAG reports submitted assembly and NIRF ratings released at the Friday point into poor research output at the Utkal University.
The National Premier University only received 13.78 values from 100 in professional research and practice, which was the reason behind managing the 87th place as a whole.
Four other institutions of the country, including two private universities, have found a place on the Top-100 NIRF list.
The CAG report stated that only one patent was submitted by the University between 2014 and 2019.
It was carried out in 2017-18, but it has not been given until the audit time.
Regarding consultation, the Utkal University has received Rs 71.74 Lakh as a receipt for four consultation projects between 2014-19, read the CAG report.
Education said this university seriously needed motivation to strengthen the research ecosystem.
Asoka Kumar Das, Deputy Chairperson of the Odisha Higher Education Board and former representative of the University Chancellor, said, “All stakeholders must work together to strengthen the research ecosystem.
We have started working in this direction.
Hopefully, the aim will be achieved,” said Das .
Siba Prasad Adhikary, Former VC FM University and former professor of Utkal University, said, “From 257 postsioned posts, 126 lay empty at the Utkal University.
If you do not have half of your faculty post, how can you think about research?” Adhikary asked.
