Bhubaneswar: About 40 platoon police forces will be deployed for the security of President of RAM Nath Kovind, which is scheduled to be on a two-day Odisha visit starting from February 19.
During his visit, he would pay respect to God Jagannath and attend several programs in Puri.
Puri District Administration on Saturday held a high-level meeting on Kovind security settings.
Puri SP Kanwar Vishal Singh said it had made arrangements for a fluent visit from the president like last year in accordance with the protocol and guidelines.
“We exert around 40 platoon police in various places and places in Puri.
About 200 police officers will also be deployed to ensure the smooth running program.
We make all the necessary settings so that the public and worshipers will not face.

Puri Distrect Collector Samarth Verma, who attended the meeting, said they would soon hold a meeting with Sevayats and Jagannath Temple officials to share responsibilities between them for Darshan which was smooth on the day of the President’s visit.
In addition to Jagannath Darshan around 5 pm on February 19, Kovind will inaugurate a celebration of the 150-year anniversary of Srimad Bhakti Sidhant Saraswati Goswami Prabhupada, founder of Mission Gooudiya the following day.
Then he will also visit Sri Chaitanya Gaudiya Mutt before returning to Delhi.
On Friday, Narasingha Bhol, IG from the police (center center), along with Puri SP has visited Jagannath Temple, Chaitanya Gaudiya Mutt and Saradhabali Ground to check security settings in front of the President’s visit.
“We took steps to make security settings fooling resistant during Jagannath Darshan and interactions with people,” Bhol said.
Bhakti Vivek Paramarthi from Gaudiya Mutt said they were happy to welcome the president.

This will be the third visit to the temple.
