Bhubaneswar: The state government has been approved by a project worth RS 640 Crore for mining districts affected under the Odisha Mineral Bearing Area Development Corporation (Ombadc).
The Ombadc is 2014 with the contribution of the mining of leaseholders for the transfer of forest land for mining.
Also, punishment was collected from tenants for illegal mining based on the Supreme Court’s order on August 2, 2017, also stored in Ombadc.
The funds now have more deposits than RS 16,000 Crore, official sources said.
The Board of Directors from the Ombadc led by Secretary of the Chief of Suresh Chandra Mohapatra has been approved by a project such as secondary school construction, environmental monitoring and sports development projects.
Under middle school development program, the state government has planned to develop smart, e-library, science laboratories, information communication technology (ICT) Laboratory and other infrastructure in 889 secondary schools in Angul, Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Mayurbhanj and Sundargarh Regency.
The aim of the school development program is to provide exposure to students in the affected mining district.
Around RS 533 Crore has been prepared for it.
Money will be used to increase the ECO-learning system in government schools in the affected mining district, the head secretary said.
