Bhubaneswar: Pratibha Ray’s leading writer has been chosen for Padma Bhushan 2022 award for its contribution to the field of literature and education.
Six other prominent people from Odisha have been chosen for Padma Shri Awards.
The center announced the Padma award – the highest civil award on Tuesday.

Other prominent people have been chosen for the coveted Shri Padma award including Odissi vocalist Shyamamani Devi for Art, Pramod Bhagat for sports, Narasingha Prasad Teacher for literature and education, Aditya Prasad Dash for Science and Technology, and Guruprasad Mohapatra (Anumerta) in Category of Civil Servants.
Jubilation gripped West Odisha after the announcement of the Padma Shri Award for the Bhagat Bhagat Player Badminton Player, and the author of Narasingha Prasad Teacher.

The author of Nrusingha Prasad Teacher said, “I am very happy that the government considers me worthy of this desirable appreciation.” Famous vocalist Shyamamani Devi said, “This award is a recognition of my 72-year-old music trip.
With my sincere effort, I have tried to take Odissi music to a respectable position.
The trip will continue.” Aditya Prasad Dash, a biologist has contributed significantly in the field of malaria and vectors (VBD) in developing various tools, technology, and strategies in VBDs.
Dash worked for more than 35 years in research at the Institute of Life Science and the Indian Medical Research Council and also led the position in strengthening and building the capabilities of research and academics, and the central network of excellence in many countries in the Southeast Asia region.
