BHubaneswar: Regional Medical Research Center ICMR (RMRC) will conduct serological surveys in 12 countries to estimate and compare the special prevalence of Covid-19 antibodies in the general population and health care workers throughout Odisha.
The survey will start from Sunday and continue until September 15.
Serosurvey has been planned in the Sambalpur district, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Khurda, Puri, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Ladyandi and Nabarangpur.
The state government has asked collectors along with the chairman of the medical health and public health officers in these districts to expand assistance to the RMRC team.
The team will collect 6,680 samples from 12 districts in total from the general population and 100 samples from health care workers in each of these districts.
The RMRC team has prepared a microplan for sample and collecting data from these districts.
“The district needs to support the accommodation for team members in the district and facilitate blood samples.
A nodal officer can be nominated at the district level to coordinate and carry out field work by consulting with the RMRC team,” said PK Mohapatra, the Head of the School (Health) in the letter to officials.
The survey will cost around Rs 57.70 lakh.
