BHUBANESWAR: The Indian Railways has chosen to cancel six pairs of neighborhood passenger/MEMU trains around June 10 from the instructions for inferior occupancy and also to break the string of Covid-19 disease.
The trains were Bhubaneswar-Kendujhargarh-Bhubaneswar Particular, Bhubaneswar-Bhadrak-Bhubaneswar Particular, Cuttack-Bhadrak-Cuttack Particular, Cuttack-Paradip-Cuttack Particular, Cuttack-Bhadrak-Cuttack Particular and Bhubaneswar-Balangir-Bhubaneswar Particular.
Nine trains such as Bhubaneswar-Jagdalpur-Bhubaneswar Particular will be cancelled days from June 1 to June 11, although three trains will likely be partly cancelled.
Puri-Angul-Puri Particular, Puri-Cuttack-Puri Particular, Bhubaneswar-Palasa-Bhubaneswar Particular, Bhubaneswar-Bangiriposi-Bhubaneswar Particular and Sambalpur-Rayagada-Sambalpur Particular will be cancelled weekends Saturday and Sunday (June 5 and June 6).
Rajdhani Express Special trains can operate two times per week.
It runs through Tata, Adra and Sambalpur City.
As a preventative measure for Covid-19, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) has chosen to start Passenger Reservation System (PRS) Counters till 8pm just till the lockdown is currently in drive.
