Bhubaneswar: The state government on Monday asked the center to allocate at least six doses of the earliest lakh covishield because Odisha will use all available stock on Tuesday.
In a letter addressed to the Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, the Minister of Health Naba Kishore Das wrote that the state had a stock of 3.38 doses of lakh covishield before vaccination began on Monday.
From Tuesday and so on, Covishield will run out of stock in the state.
In this situation, it is impossible to carry out vaccination sessions after Tuesday, the writing watershed asked six more doses.
The state received 13.78 doses of Lakh Vaksin Covishield in June.
According to the allocation proposed by the Center, the state will be at all 40.67,880 doses, including 33.75,730 covishield doses and 6.92,150 doses of covaxin, next month.
The state, however, wants an additional dose for the remaining two June.
Meanwhile, private care hospitals in Bhubaneswar said they would start managing the VAsnik V vaccine from Tuesday.
The slot for vaccination on the first four days was booked.
In the coming days, people can order first on the Cowin portal, a hospital spokesman said.
According to the Cowin Dashboard, Odisha has provided a total dose of 1.18 crore vaccines.
