Bhubaneswar: The Special Task Force (STF) of the Crime of State Crime, which investigates the trading of fake drugs in Odisha, will soon bring the case of the Mastermind Sudeep Mukherjee from Mumbai on detention.
Mukherjee, based on the Max Relief Healthcare based in Noida has produced and supply fake favipirailavir to different countries including Odisha, was arrested by Mumbai police last month.
“According to the procedure, we have submitted a 10-day application in court in Bhubaneswar.
The court will place our request before the Mumbai Court concerned.
If the Mumbai court receives it, we will bring Mukherjee here to be interrogated,” said the senior crime branch officer.
STF also plans to bring Cuttack-based drug dealers Siba Prasnana Jena, who have bought false drugs from the company Mukherjee, on detention.
STF arrested Jena on June 24.
“We are waiting for Mukherjee’s disposal.
When he was brought here, we will bring Jena to detention and interrogate it directly,” the officer said.
Jena is the Managing Director of Medilloyd Medicament Private Limited and allegedly charged with Mukherjee to sell fake favipirail tablets.
