Open: Paralykhemundi police have registered a murder case against three people, including Division Forest Officers (DFO) Gajapati, S K Behera, in connection with the mysterious death of the Soumya Forest Assistant Assistant (ACF) Ranjan Mohapatra.
“A casts are also registered against the deceased’s wife, Bidik Bharati Panda and the cook,” said the responsible Inspector, the Paradahhemundi Police Station, Bibekanand Swain.
This case was registered with the online complaint submitted by the father of the late Abhiram Mohapatra on Wednesday.
On Sunday night, the 32-year-old Mohapatra suffered serious burns while his wife was at home.
He was treated at MKCG Medical College and hospitals in mixed with 90% of burns.
Then, he shifted to a private hospital in the Cuttack where he gave up on his injury.
The police said they had recorded dying statements from forest officers before the judge, where he said his wife was in another room when the incident occurred.
“We will investigate based on deceased death declarations, autopsy reports and complaints from the deceased father,” Swain said.
The wife who died and DFO Gajapati had refused the accusation.
